SACKETS HARBOR, NY — Alan Harold Spencer, 68, Sackets Harbor, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018, at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Alan was born October 27, 1949 in Watertown the son of Harold and Dorothy Doane Spencer. He graduated from Sackets Harbor Central School and Jefferson Community College with an associate’s degree in Business.
Alan worked for Verizon Telephone Company in Watertown as a lineman and later retired as a contract inspector after an accident.
He married Linda Wood on June 14, 1969, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Brownville.
He was a member of Communications Workers of America Union as a steward, loved NASCAR and fishing, doing yard work and taking care of his cars.
He is survived by his wife Linda and two daughters and their husbands; Kelly and Joel Sova of Sackets Harbor and Kerry and David Wilson of Sackets Harbor; five grandchildren, Gage LeClair, Kayla Sova, Alan Wilson, Ashley Wilson and Evan Sova; a brother, Kent Spencer and his wife Debbie of Mannsville; two sisters, Cindy Aubertine and Lori Spencer of Sackets Harbor; nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours or funeral. Â A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Lakeside Cemetery, Sackets Harbor.
