Albert C. Ebdon, 90, Adams

ADAMS, NY — Albert C. Ebdon, 90, Adams, passed away Tuesday, June 12, at the Samaritan Medical Center where he was admitted on June 11.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, in Adams Rural Cemetery.

Albert was born in Ellisburg, July 12, 1927, a son to Frank C. and Olive E. Blair Ebdon. He graduated from Belleville Union Academy in 1945. He served in the Navy both World War II and the Korean War.  He was a hydro-maintenance foreman for Niagara Mohawk Power Corp., retiring in 1988.

Albert married Evelyn J. “Peg” Austin on June 4, 1949, at the Sandy Creek Methodist Church.  Mrs Ebdon died March 11, 2013.

Albert is past master of the Adams Masonic Lodge and was district deputy grand master of the Jefferson County Masonic Lodge in 1972 and 1973. Mr. and Mrs. Ebdon enjoyed dancing and golf and were members of the New Watertown Senior Citizens and Betmar Golf Club in Zephyrhills, FL, where they spent winter months.

He is survivied by two sons and their wives, David and Margaret Ebdon, Brockville, ON, Arnie and Jeanine Ebdon, Lake Wales, FL, a grandson Colin and his wife Erin, two granddaughters and their husbands, Patti and John Payne and Pam and John Hilts; two great grandsons, five great granddaughters; a niece, Peggy and her husband Roy; and a nephew Philip.

Besides his parents and wife Peg, he was also predeceased by his sister Barbara Baker.

The family would especially like to thank the wonderful people at the Adams Baptist Church for their love and support of their father during a difficult final year.
