WATERTOWN, NY — Alice D. Corbett, 86, passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2019.
Alice was born Jan. 1, 1933, the daughter of Franklyn E. Cowles and Alice E. Dygert in Watertown, NY.
She married Willard Corbett in 1952 and lived in Watertown most of her life.
She is survived by a son, Willard J. Corbett, Jr. and two grandsons, Christopher Corbett and Shawn Corbett, all of Miami Florida. She is further survived by her brother, Franklyn A. Cowles, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her sisters, MaryAnn E. O’Riley and Betty J. Wilder.
Alice worked at the NY Telephone Company and News Relay Inc. working for her father in the transport of US Mail and freight, and carried the Post Standard and Herald newspapers to the North Country for years. In her later years, she worked at genealogy research for the Historical Society in Jefferson County.
She was an avid animal lover with many talents and knitted scarves and sweaters for all that needed them. She had a fondness for shopping on line and giving away the things she purchased.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
