WATERTOWN, NY — Anthony Belden, age 103, died of natural causes on Aug. 18, 2018 in Ocala, Florida.
He is survived by his sons Gerald J. (Julie) Belden of Ithaca, NY and Patrick A. (Gloria) Belden of Ocala, FL.
He was predeceased in death by his wife Adele (Peck) Belden; his son Thomas P. (Sandy) Belden; his daughter Carol (Bob) Gessley; and his five brothers James, Louis, Jerry, Jack, and Michael.
Anthony was born in 1915 in Oswego, NY, to parents Patrick and Anna (Paragon) Belden. He graduated from Watertown High school in 1934. He loved to play sports and was on the baseball, basketball, football, and golf teams.
He worked for the US Post Office for several years and then for Sears for 31 years before retiring.
Tony loved golf and was proud of his six hole-in-ones he had while living in Florida. Along with being a loving father and husband, he loved share is life stories. For these reasons and more, he will be greatly missed.
No services will be held.
Internment will at Glenwood Cemetery in Watertown, NY.
