WATERTOWN, NY — Baerbel J. LaFleur, 78, Watertown, passed away Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at Samaritan Summit Village with her daughter by her side.
A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Asbury United Methodist Church at 5 PM with Rev. Penny Farrington presiding. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are entrusted with Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown.
Baerbel was born in Berlin, Germany on July 2, 1940, the daughter of Wilhelm and Erna Bielke Becker. She was educated in Germany, married, and moved to the US in 1966. She received an associates degree from JCC. Â She held various secretarial and support positions, retiring from the Jefferson County Clerk’s office. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and the German Club. She enjoyed exercise, gardening and outdoor activities, and especially spending time with her family and granddaughter.
She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Vincent and Amy Moore residing in Lorraine and Monika and Aaron Docteur residing in Watertown and her granddaughter, Anna Docteur.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398 Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
