Bernice Rule Finkbeiner, 84, formerly of Black River

BLACK RIVER, NY — It is with great sadness that the family of Bernice Rule Finkbeiner announces her sudden passing on May 23, 2018.

Bernie will forever be remembered by her sons, Mark (Melissa) Finkbeiner and Bruce (Susan) Finkbeiner, as well as her grandchildren; Steven, Adam, Scott and Stefanie, and her six great grandchildren.

Born and raised in Butler, PA, she graduated from Harding High School in 1951. She then went on to attend Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated in 1954.  Bernie worked for many years as a registered nurse at the House of Good Samaritan in Watertown, N.Y.

She and her late husband Donald, formerly of Black River, N.Y., retired to Central Florida in 1983.

Bernie was a lifelong member of the Bethany Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Her selflessness, sincerity, and empathy endeared her to many and she will be regarded with fondness by those who knew her.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Donald G. Finkbeiner in November of 2017.
