GOUVERNEUR, NY — Brian A. Dixson, 63, of Lynde Rd., Gouverneur, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, NY.
Born Aug. 12, 1954, in Ware, MA, a son of Clarence A. and Marsha E. Clark Dixson, he graduated from Quabbin Regional High School, Barre, MA.
Brian married Paula S. Dean of Oakham, MA on Nov. 15, 1975. She died March 19, 2010.
He was a dairy farmer and construction worker in Massachusetts. The couple moved to Northern New York in December 1997, continued dairy farming on Co. Rt. 194, until retiring in 2011 and moved to Gouverneur, NY.
Brian spent his time making sure his children behaved and taking care of his seventeen grandchildren.
Survivors include ten children; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Shani Dixson, Philadelphia, NY, son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Brandy Dixson, Fowler, NY, son, William Dixson, Gouverneur, NY, son, Adam Dixson, Edwards, NY, son, Scott Dixson, Gouverneur, NY, daughter, Lisa Dixson, Maryland, son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Amanda Dixson, Plessis, NY, son, David Dixson, Oxbow, NY, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Noreen Dixson, Florida, daughter, Rebecca Dixson, Fowler, NY; seventeen grandchildren; two sisters, Colleen Melanson, MA and Susan Dixson, MD.
His parents, his wife, Paula and a grandchild, Evan Dixson all died previously.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Theresa, NY with Pastor David Sheppard, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rossie, NY. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life at the Theresa Fire Hall immediately following services.
A calling hour will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
