Cashier accused of falsifying business records, stealing $540 worth of property at Thrifty Shopper

WATERTOWN, NY — Mark E. Bishop, 22, of 170 Bowers Ave., Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 8:10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building with first-degree falsifying business records, a felony, and petit larceny.

Mr. Bishop is accused of stealing property worth $540.12 from Thrifty Shopper, 1222 Arsenal St., at about 5:36 p.m. June 4, according to court documents.

Police allege he intentionally “mimicked making entries into the cash register at Thrifty Shopper to conceal the commission of the crime of petit larceny.”

He is ordered to appear July 18 in City Court.
