Rhonda, daughter of Eleanor VanNess of Three Mile Bay, is a 1987 graduate of Lyme Central School and the Jefferson/Lewis BOCES licensed practical nursing program. She is employed as a Private Duty LPN by Mr. & Mrs. Richard Fabend, Depauville. Rhonda has a son, Devin and a daughter, Brook, both at home.

John, son of Arthur Veith and the late, Lois Veith of Cape Vincent, is a 1986 graduate of Thousand Islands High School. He is employed by Bach & Co., Clayton, as a heavy equipment operator.

A June 28th, 2008 outdoor wedding is planned in Cape Vincent.

James A. & Patricia M. Ryder

James A. and Patricia M. Ryder, of 18075 NYS Route 177, Adams Center, are celebrating their 50^th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Ryder, son of the later Earl V. and Rosa L. (Murray) Ryder, married Patricia Mae Smith, daughter of the late Robert J. and Ella M. (Davis) Smith, June 6, 1958, at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Adams, with the Rev. Robert Ayers, officiating.

The best man was Pearl Ryder and the matron of honor was Barbara Smith. Groomsmen were Ray Petrie and Roger Miller and bridesmaids were Ann and Sue Countryman. The flower girl was Betty Smith. A reception was held at Meadow Brook Restaurant, Ellisburg.

Mr. Ryder was a farmer, bus driver for South Jefferson Schools, snow plow operator for the town of Adams, and a self-employed contractor. Mrs. Ryder worked as a teller for Northern New York Trust Bank, was a clerk at Red Gables Fabric Shop, was an in home babysitter and for ten years, an Avon representative.

Mr. Ryder is a 44-year member of the Rodman Masonic Lodge #506, a member and past fire chief of the Adams Center Fire Department, a member of the South Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. He served as chairman of the Christmas in South Jeff parade from 1989 to 1994, is a John Deere Two-Cylinder Club member, a member of the Islander Chorus, and a Jeff-4-Sons Barbershop Quartet member from 1977 to 1991. Mrs. Ryder is a member of the Adams Center Fire Department Auxiliary, the South Jefferson Chamber of Commerce, and Christmas in South Jeff Parade chairman.

The couple has two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. and Elizabeth Ryder of Adams and James R. and Susan Ryder of Adams Center, a granddaughter, Lindsay Ryder of Glenfield and grandson, Matthew Ryder of Adams Center.

There will be an open house, Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Adams American Legion Post 586, 10 South Main Street, Adams.

Steve and Debbie (Marra) Donaldson of Gananoque, Ontario with Grandparents  Philip and Yuvon Marra of Watertown are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacey Marie Donaldson to Jason Edward Kellar, son of  Jim and Lorraine Kellar of Mallorytown, Ontario.

Jacey is a 2003 graduate of the University of Waterloo in kineseology and in 2005 from the SUNY Potsdam with her Masters of Teaching. Jacey is currently employed by the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario and Dreams in Motion Performing and Fine Arts School. Jason is a 1998 graduate of Queen's University with a degree in geography and in 2000 from SUNY Potsdam with his Masters of Teaching. Jason currently teaches Grade 1/2 at Linklater Public School in Gananoque.

A July 12 wedding is planned on Grindstone Island. The couple will reside in Mallorytown, Ontario.

Watertown High School Class of 1988

Watertown High's class of 1988 will be holding its 20 year reunion as follows:

Fri Aug. 1st - Cocktail hour at Pewter Mug from 6 p.m.-10 p.m.  Food, entertainment and drink specials, $10.00 at the door.

Sat. Aug. 2nd - Reunion held at the Carriage House from 7 p.m.-12 a.m.  Dinner, slide show, entertainment, awards, cash bar, $40.00 pre-paid reservation. 

Sun. Aug. 3rd - TBA...Looking for a nice, by the water, outdoor venue to bring the families for a relaxing impromptu jam-session with our class musicians and entertainers.  Bring the kids, volley ball and a dish and we'll provide some drinks and entertainment.
