Deputies investigating Antwerp incident

ANTWERP, NY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the report of a serious injury sustained by an Antwerp man on May 30, 2018.

At 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, Jared C. Cook, 28, of 8875 County Route 24, Antwerp, was found with head trauma and an arm laceration outside of his home by a female of the same address.

Nicole Lacey reported to the Jefferson County 911 center that she found Mr Cook unconscious in the driveway of their residence.

The victim was treated by Indian River Ambulance personnel and then transported by LifeNet to Upstate University Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Because of the extent of the injuries, the Sheriff’s Office has initiated an investigation into the cause(s) which are still unknown at this time.

Further details will be released when available and appropriate, deputies said.
