HAMMOND, NY – Diana L. Howie, 67, of Norwood, formerly of Hammond, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Born Aug. 19, 1951, in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter to the late Carl and Eva (Abar) Clary, she attended Ogdensburg Free Academy.
She worked work at Newell Manufacturing for 30 years.
In 1966, she married Arthur Earl Howie Jr. in Hammond, NY. Arthur passed away in May 1996.
Diana loved to knit, play bingo, collect antiques and gamble at the casino.
She is survived by her longtime companion, Douglas Perault of Norwood; two sons, Arthur E. (Lori) Howie III, Hammond, NY; Allen (Karen) Howie, Hammond, NY; two daughters, Laura (Patrick) Carr, Fowler, NY; Ann (Bob) Boland, Hammond, NY; two sisters, Mary Lou Shortt, Oswego, NY; Carol Van Horn, Oswego, NY; a brother, Carl Clary Jr., Ogdensburg, NY; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m. Dec. 22, 2018, in Fineview Cemetery in Hammond. A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow at a location to be announced.
