Earle Widrick, 90, Adams Center

ADAMS CENTER, NY — Earle Widrick, 90, of Adams Center, died Sunday morning at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.

Calling hours are 4  to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at the Adams Village Baptist Church.  Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Adams Village Baptist Church with Rev. Gary George officiating. Burial will be private in the Rural Cemetery, Adams.

Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home Inc, Adams.

Born Sept. 23, 1928, in the town of Croghan, son of Jacob and Lena (Martin) Widrick, he attended school in Belfort. Earle worked with his brothers on the family farm in Croghan.

He married Betty Bast on Sept. 25, 1952, in Dadville with Rev. Lloyd Boshart officiating. The couple lived in Syracuse and later purchased a farm on the Middle Road in Rutland. In 1963 they purchased a farm in Mannsville. They moved to Adams Center in 1975 and in 1976 started Widrick Construction with his son Dean. The business is now known as DEW Builders Inc.

Mrs Widrick died December 23, 2010.

Surviving are three sons Dean E. (Kelly L.) Widrick, Adams Center, Mark R. Widrick, Adams Center, Errol J. (Melissa A.) Widrick, Adams; one daughter Sharon K. (L. Dale) Pope, Adams Center; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one daughter in law Judy D. Widrick, Adams Center; one sister Gladys Moshier, Watertown; two brothers in law Aaron Widrick, Lowville and Simon Gingerich, Castorland; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.

He was a member of the Watertown Mennonite Church as well as attended the Adams Village Baptist Church for many years. He was a past member of the Adams Rotary Club.
