Elizabeth B. Taylor, 96, Watertown

WATERTOWN, NY — Elizabeth (Betty) Bernice Taylor, 96, formerly of Dexter and Watertown passed away Saturday morning, February 23, 2019, at Samaritan Summit Village.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 214 Sterling St., Watertown. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at the funeral home with The Rev. Toby Schilling presiding immediately followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery.

Elizabeth was born in Shenandoah, PA on Jan. 1, 1923, the daughter of Thomas and Ethel J. (Martinitis) Kruchinsky. She attended P. S. 115 and graduated from George Washington High School, both in NYC.

On Feb. 14, 1942, she married the love of her life, Frank E. Taylor, Sr. at the Church of the Intersession, NYC. Mr. Taylor, a machine adjuster at  Cheeseborough Ponds, Watertown, passed on July 14, 2008.

Betty worked as a Nurse’s Aide in NYC. The couple and their children moved to Watertown in 1972. Betty worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Mercy Hospital. She also worked in the dietary department at  Mercy Hospital and The House of the Good Samaritan. Betty enjoyed reading, watching game shows and reality TV, playing Bingo and Bunco with her daughters, granddaughters and friends.

Betty is survived by her five children, Frank E. Taylor, Jr. and wife, Jean, Pearl River NY,  Jean F. Beasley and husband, Joseph, Kernersville NC, Ann Marie Fults and husband, Patrick, Mauldin SC, Ethel T. Hurst and husband, Ronnie, Ovett MS, and Helen C. Montague and husband, Richard, Black River NY,  thirteen grandchildren, Frank, Michael, Jamie, Jeff, Trevor, Mark, Vanessa, Patrick, Rhianna, Adrian, Elizabeth, Shannon and Nathan, twenty-seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Thomas, her mother, Ethel J. Kwaak, her brother, Leo Kruchinsky, and her two sisters, Frances Maher and Julia Mulhall.
