WATERTOWN, NY — The funeral service for Ethel M. Parent will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will precede the service at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m.
Ethel passed away Thursday, February 21st at Samaritan Summit Village. She was 93 years old.
Born April 27, 1925, in Champion, a daughter to Ryel and Gladys (Perkins) Dailey, she was educated locally, and worked as a waitress at Ives Hill Country Club and the Black River Valley Club for over 20 years.
She married Edmund A. Parent on Dec. 23, 1942. Mr. Parent passed away October 23, 2011.
Surviving are her children: Edmund Parent, Jr. of Rochester and David J. Parent of Arizona. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.
Ethel spent her free time working in the garden where she will always be remembered picking weeds and tending to her favorite flower, the red rose. She also enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and baking. Above all else, she cherished family gatherings when she could sit at the dinner table and discuss old memories with her family.
Ethel will be remembered as someone who was always on the go.
She was predeceased by a daughter: Donna Cramer; and her siblings: Vivien Paquin, Jenny Vanluman, Bud Daily, Dorothy Hibbard, Elizabeth Johnson, Bill Daily, & Beverly Neise.
