Gerald G. “Jerry” Millard, 78, Lowville

LOWVILLE, NY –  Gerald G. “Jerry” Millard, 78, of Stewart Lane Road, Lowville, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at Lewis County General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, and under the care of Lewis County Hospice.

Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral service will follow at noon Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bryan Catlin officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Cemetery.

Born Sept. 26, 1939, in Lowville, a son of the late George Lawrence and Mary Louise Post Millard, he attended Copenhagen Central School and worked on area farms before his marriage.

On Jan. 20, 1962, he married Charlotte I. Lyndaker at the Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Nay officiating.

He worked construction for Harold Loucks, owned and operated the Atlantic Gas Station in Lowville and worked for area paper mills. Jerry also worked for Kraft Foods in Lowville for 24 ½ years, retiring in 1999.

Jerry was a past member of the Lowville Moose Lodge, the Lowville VFW men’s auxillary, and was a past member of the Black River Valley Fiddlers. Together with his wife, they were members of the Black River Valley Campers and enjoyed camping very much. He also enjoyed round and square dancing, carpentry, mechanical tasks, Nascar, puzzles, and word search.

Jerry had a great sense of humor.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his children, granddaughter and his great-grandchildren.

Jerry enjoyed spending the past seven winters in Zephyrhills, FL.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 56 years,Charlotte; four children, Steven Millard of Heuvelton, Tracy and Eric Jensen of Liverpool, Dean Millard of  Watson, and George and Shannon Millard of Troutville, V.A.; two sisters, Arletha Zecher, of Carthage; Marlyn Bickom of LaFargeville; a brother, Wilbur and Marie Millard, of Carthage; a brother- in-law, Jack Grimsley, of Kansas; a granddaughter, Alicia and Andy Hewitt of Watertown; three great-grandchildren, Dylan, Addie, and Lucy Hewitt; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

He was predeceased by a son, Dennis Alexander Millard, three sisters, Alfreda Grimsley; Carol Cozzi; and Norma Jean Millard, who died in infancy, two brothers-in- law, Richard Zecher and Richard Cozzi.
