Jacob H. “Jake” Hamilton, 83, Adams

ADAMS, NY — Jacob H. “Jake” Hamilton, 83, of Roberts Street, Adams, died Sunday afternoon, July 29, at Hospice of Jefferson County, Watertown.

The funeral service be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Rev. Cathy Hamilton officiating. Calling hours will precede the funeral beginning at noon. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery, Adams Center, NY.

Arrangements are with the Piddock Funeral Home, Inc., Adams.

Born Feb. 21, 1935, in Watertown, the son of Jacob H. and Alice Watson Hamilton, he attended Adams High School.

He worked for the Town and Village of Adams and Fred Jones Paving. Later he worked for Greenley Fuel Company, Adams, for 29 years and for Pal Oil Company for 6 years, retiring in 1999.

He married Donna Dickinson on Nov. 23, 1958. Mrs. Hamilton died Dec. 7, 1998.

He is survived by his companion of nineteen years, Tudy Clark, a daughter and son in law Tracy and David Puckett, Adams; two granddaughters Heather (Jeremy) Joss, Adams, Hillary (Alex) Schaller, Cicero; three great-grandchildren, Micheala Schaller, Isabelle Schaller and Grayson Schaller, all of Cicero; step children, Kip and Christina Bachar, Adams, Thomas and Gina Bachar, Mulberry, FL; step grandchildren Rutger (Michele) Bachar, Thomas, McKenzie and Jonathan Bachar;  and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sons Howie H. Hamilton, Donnie C. Hamilton, three brothers Carl, Robert and Clifford Hamilton, and two sisters, Pauline Lockridge and Marjorie Fiaschetti.

Jake was an avid Dale Earnhardt Sr. & Jr. race-car fan and collector of memorabilia.
