DEXTER, NY — Jacqueline R. “Jackie” Parker, 69, of Pillar Point, passed away Tuesday evening, Oct. 30, 2018, at her home.
A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., Watertown, with Rev. Jeff Smith, pastor of First Baptist Church, presiding. Following the service at the funeral home, the family invites friends to the Dexter American Legion for a celebration of her life starting at 3 p.m.
Born Sept. 1, 1949, in Alexandria Bay, a daughter of John E. “Jack” and Betty M. Londraville Connolly, she was a graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy.
On Sept. 9, 1972, she married Arthur H. Parker at Holy Family Church with Rev. Euclid Marier officiating.
Before her marriage she worked as a secretary at Black Clawson, Watertown. After marrying Art, the couple lived in Syracuse for 25 years. While in Syracuse she worked for a telephone credit union and then with her husband, they owned and operated Quality Brands, a food distributor. In 1997 the couple moved to Pillar Point. She then worked for Marra’s Home Care as a secretary in the billing department for 20 years.
Jackie enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She was an avid fan of Syracuse Athletics, especially football and basketball. She was an excellent tailgater and attended many games at the Dome.
Along with her husband, Arthur, Jackie is survived by her two sons, Brian A. Parker and wife, Eliza, S. Glens Falls and Craig P. Parker, Dexter; two grandchildren, Macy and Keagan Parker; seven sisters, Linda A. Bartling, Clearwater, FL, Kathryn J. Ward and husband, Gary, Watertown, Susan E. Weldon and husband, Jim, Rouse’s Point, Debbie L. Devine and husband, Ronald, Watertown, Mary E. Steele and husband, Dennis, Watertown, Betty L. Cheever and husband, Russ, Cicero, and Nancy A. Marra and husband, John, Brownville; brother, John T. Connolly and wife, Rebecca A., Watertown; sister-in-law, Priscilla Lewis and husband, James, Carthage; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Parker and wife, Brenda, Watertown and Dennis Parker and wife, Julie, Clayton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Jackie’s family wishes donations in her name to the American Lung Association of NY, 1595 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14620.
