John  D. “Duffy” Fredenburg, 59, formerly of Beaver Falls

BEAVER FALLS – John  D. “Duffy” Fredenburg, 59, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away Tuesday morning, June 26, 2018 at his home in Hubbard, Ohio.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Beaver Falls Fire Department, 9853 Main Street, Beaver Falls, NY 13305.

He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Calvin J. and Linda Fredenburg of Albion, NY; Eric F. and Gale Fredenburg of Lowville; Gail and Lynn Campany of St. Augustine, FL; Elizabeth A. Fredenburg and Julie Salazar of Clayton, NY; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by an infant sister Gail Elizabeth Fredenburg.

Duffy was born on April 21, 1959 Lowville, NY, a son of the late Glenn and Mary “Dodie” Donnelly Fredenburg and graduated from Beaver River Central School. Duffy was a long time resident of Beaver Falls and was well known in the Lewis County area from the  years he worked with his father running the family business, Fredenburg’s General Store. He enjoyed working at his most recent employment at Glenfield BOCES in the Audio Visual department but he had to retire when he became disabled.

Duffy especially enjoyed following Nascar and dirt track racing. He was a true “Blaniac” with Dave Blaney and his son Ryan being his favorite drivers. For several years he spent summers in Ohio near Mercer Race track and recently made it his permanent home. He liked being surrounded by nature and his many friends at the track and campgrounds.
