Lee M. Babcock, 83, of Adams Center

ADAMS CENTER, NY — Lee M. Babcock, 83, of Adams Center, died while at home on Monday September 17, 2018.

A funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the Piddock Funeral Home, Adams. Burial will follow in Smithville Cemetery, Smithville.  Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home.

Born Dec. 20, 1934, in Watertown, NY, son of Carl and Edith Babcock, he attended school in Henderson. He worked on the family farm before entering the military, and after his discharge, he continued farming in Henderson, then as an independent milk hauler. He later worked at Queens Farms Dairy in Pierrepont Manor until his retirement.

He married Mary Ann Kepner on Dec. 10, 1959, at the Assembly of God Church in Adams. Mrs. Babcock died April 25, 2001.

He later married Joyce Brown.

Mr. Babcock is survived by four sons, Terry (and fiancé Jody Delles), Adams Center, Larry (Marion), Adams Center, Jerry (Charlotte), Clayton, Gary (Deborah), Clayton; two daughters Debra (Rick) Ketchum, Oswego, Cynthia Otis, Farmington, NY; 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren; a great- great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.

He enjoyed attending Fiddlers dances, making lawn signs, learning to play various musical instruments, camping, fishing and motorcycling.
