Man accused of threatening another with glass bottle of cooking wine at Price Chopper, police say

WATERTOWN, NYAlexander E. Mauch, 45, homeless, was charged by Watertown police at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 1283 Arsenal St. with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Mr. Mauch is accused of approaching Stephen S. Speelman, 50, with a glass bottle of cooking wine which he raised from his side while stating “you mean nothing to me, I’ll do the 2 to 5,” at about 5:55 p.m. Wednesday at Price Chopper food store, according to court documents.

He was being held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on $500 police bail pending arraignment Thursday morning in City Court.
