Watertown man accused of punching woman during domestic incident

WATERTOWN, NYEric W. Jones, 32, of 405 Arsenal St., Apt. B, Watertown, was charged by Watertown police at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at his residence with with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment.

Police allege Mr. Jones punched Mary J. Morrow, 23, repeatedly in her head with a closed fist, squeezed her face, displayed a utility-style knife/razor in a threatening manner in the presence of a 1-year-old boy and prevented her from leaving his apartment during a domestic incident at about 9:55 p.m. Sunday, May 13, at 405 Arsenal St., Apt. B.

He was additionally charged by  police with second-degree criminal contempt. Mr. Jones is accused of violating the terms of a Family Court stay-away order of protection when he placed a phone call to the protected party at about 2:31 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, police said.

He was being held pending arraignment Wednesday morning in City Court.
