LOWVILLE, NY — On Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018, at approximately 11:15 a.m., State Police responded to Flat Rock Road in the town of Montague for a report of a serious injury snowmobile accident.
The investigation revealed, a 2015 Ski-Doo Renegade Snowmobile, operated by 18-year-old, Luke A. Tyrrell was traveling eastbound on Flat Rock Road (State Snowmobile Trail C5D) when he lost control, struck an earth embankment on the south shoulder of the trail, and then struck a tree, troopers said.
Tyrrell was transported to Lewis County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased, troopers said.
The investigation is continuing.
