ANTWERP, NY – Martha Marie Sampson, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 16, 2018.
She was the daughter of Michael Roy and Mildred Rice Kennell of Great Bend, New York.
Born Nov. 30, 1930, she graduated in June 1948 from Carthage High School.
She worked for Faichney Instrument Co., and married William Harris Sampson on Nov. 4, 1949. He passed away on July 12, 1983.
She was a member of Eastern Star Chapter 189 and played piano for them for 20 years. She was a member of the Congregational Church of Antwerp. Martha loved crossword puzzles, reading, gardening, and anything physical.
A brother, Roy Kennell and sister, Arlene Kennell passed before her. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Jo Bennett of Clayton and Dina Marie Dennis of Carlsbad, California; four grandsons, Mickey W. Welser; Mark A. Welser; Michael R. Dennis; Braeden R. Dennis; and two great granddaughters, Isabella Kathleen Welser and Aurora Rhodayah Welser.
Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 28, 2018, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State Street, Carthage. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Great Bend, NY.
