Massena man arrested for reckless endangerment with a pellet gun

MASSENA, NY — On Oct. 13, 2018, at approximately 11:56 p.m., State Police responded to a residence on Franklin Road in the town of Waddington, for report of a domestic dispute.

An investigation at the scene revealed Orville R. Lowes, 49, of Massena shot at the male victim with a pellet gun, troopers said.

During a struggle between Lowes and the victim, a television was also damaged. When troopers arrived on scene and tried to place Lowes in custody, he resisted arrest, troopers said.

Lowes was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (felony), second-degree reckless endangerment (misdemeanor), fourth-degree criminal mischief (misdemeanor), and resisting arrest (misdemeanor).

Lowes was arraigned in Massena Town Court where he was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail, or $2,000 bond. He will reappear in Waddington Town Court at a later date.
