CARTHAGE, NY — Michael Thomas Ashcroft, 73, of Trenton, Florida, passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, surrounded by his family.
Born Oct. 30, 1944, the son of James C. and Rita Bodfield Ashcroft of Carthage, he attended Carthage Augustinian Academy.
A United States Navy Veteran, he worked for years at Carthage Area Hospital.
He was an active member in the Elks Club, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Volunteer at Haven Hospice and a member of Holy Cross Mission in Cross City, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marguerite Plumadore-Ashcroft and four children, Pamela Ashcroft-Daniels and her companion, Mark J. Heath, Clarksville, Florida, Darren Ashcroft and Lori Cronk-Ashcroft, Carthage, NY, Suzanne Ashcroft-Taylor and Dan of Rome, NY, and Krishna Ashcroft-Stemple and Mike of Trenton, Florida; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two surviving brothers, James B. and Gerald and a sister, Kathy Ashcroft-West, all of Carthage.
A funeral Mass will be held at the St. James Catholic Church, Carthage at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
