NYSP Update: Adams man killed in UTV accident in St. Lawrence County

PARISHVILLE, NY — On Sept. 2, 2018, at approximately 8:02 p.m., the New York State Police responded to Carry Falls Beach in the town of Parishville for a report of an UTV accident.

Upon arrival, Francis A. Cook, 46 of Adams, NY, was found deceased.

An investigation revealed that Cook was operating his 2016 Polaris Ranger UTV eastbound on Carry Falls beach when the machine tipped over, causing fatal injuries to Cook, troopers said.

St. Lawrence County Coroner June Wood responded to the scene and pronounced Cook deceased.

An autopsy was performed at the Canton Potsdam Hospital on September 3, 2018. Jefferson County Medical Examiner, Dr. Samuel Livingstone determined the cause of death to be basilar skull fractures due to blunt force trauma.

St. Lawrence County Coroner June Wood ruled the manner of death accidental.
