Gerald
R. Quencer, 76, formerly of Sackets Harbor, passed away
Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Samaritan Keep Home.
Born the son of Albert and Alberta Quencer, he attended
Brownville High School
Mr. Quencer worked for the Town of Adams, was a mechanic,
heavy equipment operator, and retired from Frinks Snowplow
May 2003. He was also a self-employed handyman for several
years.
He married Diane Henderson on Oct. 27, 1984, in Henderson,
N.Y.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, two sons: Ronald (Lesa)
Quencer, Adams, and Robert (Pam) Quencer, Fla.; three
step-daughters, Robin Alvarez, Mich., Tammy Austin, Ark.,
Terry Wheeler, Watertown; a stepson Richard Haven, Fla.; a
sister, Mildred Pisarski, Barnes Corners; five
granddaughters; two grandsons and twin great-grandsons.
He was a
member of the United Aerospace Machinist Union.
Mr. Quencer enjoyed carpentry, racing- owned and raced his
own stock car for many years, playing cards, family, friends
and tending his garden.
A graveside
service will be held in the spring at Grove Cemetery,
LaFargeville. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday,
Jan. 8, at Johnson Funeral Home, Dexter.
Donations may be made to the 6th Floor activities
fund at Samaritan Keep Home in lieu of flowers.
