Stephen A. Hodkinson, 51,
passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, Jan. 28, at
Samaritan Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Reed &
Benoit Funeral Home with Rev. Joyce Woodcock officiating.
Calling hours will be held 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, at
the funeral home. Spring burial will be in Sanford Corners
Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Born June 1, 1961, in Watertown, a son to Robert J. and
Janet S. Longamore Hodkinson, he graduated in 1979 from
Watertown High School.
He was employed by the Watertown City School District for 28
years as the head custodian at H.T. Wiley Intermediate
School.
He married Marsha Williams on May 7, 1983, at St. Paul's
Catholic Church, Black River.
Mr. Hodkinson enjoyed hunting, bowling, traveling, stock car
racing, and spending time with his family (especially his
grandson, Seth).
He was also an avid New York Giants fan.
Mr. Hodkinson was a member of the Watertown Eagles Club,
Sons of the American Legion, Men's Auxiliary V.F.W.,
Carthage Elks Lodge #1762, N.R.A., and the North Country
Draft Horse Club.
Surviving besides his wife, Marsha, and his parents, Bob and
Janet, are a son and daughter-in-law, Luke (Melinda)
Hodkinson, Watertown; a grandson, Seth Hodkinson; a
brother-in-law, Francis Williams, Black River; and several
aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the
following charities: American Cancer Society, PO Box 357,
Watertown, NY 13601, the Memorial Fund at the First United
Methodist Church, 236 Mullin Street, Watertown, NY 13601; or
to a charity of one's own choosing.
