REDWOOD, N.Y. —
Linda M. Loomis, 63,
formerly of Clayton, died Friday, Feb. 8, at River Hospital,
Alexandria Bay.
The funeral will be 11 a.m.
Thursday, Feb. 14, at Clayton United Methodist Church with
Pastor Donald Briant officiating. Calling hours will be 5 to
8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, atT.R. Jetty Funeral Home in
Clayton. A spring burial will be in St. Lawrence Union
Cemetery.
Born Sept. 14, 1949, in Clayton, the daughter of George and
Roxie Cumins Schleher, she graduated in 1967 from Clayton
Central School.
She married Maurice "Bud" Loomis on Dec. 30, 2006,
at the Clayton Fire Hall. A previous married to William
Faust ended in divorce.
Linda worked for the 1000 Islands Bait Store for 22 years,
Wingrath Brothers Lumber yard for seven years and at the
time of her death she worked for Garlocks Lumber and
Hardware in Alexandria Bay.
She was a Daughter of the American Legion Clayton, a member
of the Clayton Fire Department and the American Legion
Ladies Auxiliaries.
Mrs. Loomis enjoyed bingo, playing cards, gambling, kids and
her great grand-child and especially her husband.
Surviving besides her husband, Bud, are her three daughters
and their husbands, Melinda (Jeffrey) Countryman of Theresa,
Melissa (George) Haas and Misty (Ken) Partridge, all of
Clayton; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; two
brothers, Daniel (Linda) Schleher and Johnny Mike (Janet)
all of Clayton; nieces and nephews.
A brother, Gary, and his wife, Alvera, both died before her.
Donations can be made in her name to the Redwood
Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Squad, where the reception
will be held after the service or the Clayton Volunteer Fire
Department.
