WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Amy Jo Ramsey, 61, of
Sterling Street, died Feb. 7 at Hospice of Jefferson County,
Watertown.
A memorial service will be noon Saturday, Feb. 16, at the
Piddock Funeral Home, Adams, with Lisa Meyers, Amy’s aunt
officiating. The Bethany OES Chapter 343 will also be
conducting a special service at that time. Calling hours
will be from 10 a.m. to noon preceding the funeral. Burial
in Dexter Cemetery will be held at a later date.
Born May 26, 1951, in Watertown, daughter of L. Mason and
Barbara Johnson Ramsey, she graduated from South Jefferson
Central School.
Following graduation she lived in Watertown and worked at
Jefferson Rehabilitation Center for approximately twenty
years as a caregiver and then for Caregivers until retiring
in 2011 due to disability.
Amy is survived by a son, Corey D. Ramsey, Watertown; her
mother, Barbara Ramsey, Zephyrhills, Fla.; three brothers,
Kevin L. and wife Diane, Adams, Randy M. and wife Carol,
Clayton, and Barry W., Adams Center; a special friend, Nikki
Wilkes and her infant son Dante, Watertown; and several
nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Mason Ramsey, who died in
2009. and a sister-in-law, Mary Ramsey, who died in 2012.
She enjoyed her Jack Russell dogs, the farmers market and
especially enjoyed putting on barbecues for her friends.
She was a member of the Bethany OES Chapter 343 in Black
River.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations in
her memory may be made to Hospice of Jefferson County, 1398
Gotham St., Watertown, NY 13601.
