WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Rita M. Perrigo, 85, Washington St., and a 34-year resident of Point Salubrious, died Sunday morning, March 9, at Samaritan Medical Center where she had been a patient since March 6.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 214 Sterling St., Watertown. Rev. Paul Gmitter, pastor of Faith Fellowship Church, Dexter, will officiate a 7 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Glenwood Cemetery, town of Watertown.

Born March 15, 1922, in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Louis and Laura Lavigne Lalonde, she graduated from Canadian schools.

She married Robert S. Perrigo on Jan. 7, 1943, at the Church of the Nativity in Cornwall. Mr. Perrigo, and electrician for 43 years with IBEW Local #910, died on Feb. 25, 2002.

She was the manager of several retail stores in Canada, and lastly for Payment's Hosiery Shop, Watertown. After her retirement, she taught Bible school in the Chaumont area.

She was a member of the Faith Fellowship Church, Dexter.

Surviving are a sister, Edith Ida Mason, Watertown, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her brother, Oscar J. LaLonde, died in 1991.
