WATERTOWN, N.Y.  —  Patricia A. Schara, 70, of 26320 Mustard Road, died Saturday, March 22, at Samaritan Medical Center.   

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Brownville Cemetery, Brownville, with Rev. Leon VanWie officiating.

She was born Aug. 19, 1937, in Oneida, the daughter of William and Laura Cheeseboro Herringshaw.  

She married Gene Schara on Sept. 9, 1961, in Oneida.  

Mrs. Schara worked at home and enjoyed bingo and dancing.

Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, Michael and Lisa Schara, LaFargeville, and Scott and Kris Schara, Watertown; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Jim and Michelle Herringshaw, Fred and Linda Herringshaw, Kenneth Herringshaw, and Edward and Shawn Chase, all of Oneida, and Theodore Herringshaw, Florida; four sisters and a brother-in-aw, Jeannie and Peter James, Barbara Hudson, Shirley Herringshaw, and Deborah Herringshaw and Linda Mellsko, all of Oneida; two grandchildren, Reese Schara and Victoria Burton; and several Nieces and Nephews. 

A son, Brian, died at birth, and a brother, William Herringshaw, and two sisters, Nina Petrie and Helen Chase, all died before her. 

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown, with Rev. Leon VanWie officiating. Calling hours will be 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, prior to the funeral.  Burial will be in the spring in Brownville Cemetery.   

Donations in her name may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are with Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown.
