Edna L. O’Brien, 84, of 4251 County Route
12E, died March 26, at home under the care of her family and
Hospice on Jefferson County.
A graveside service will be held noon Saturday, May 24, St. Vincent of Paul cemetery, Cape Vincent, with Deacon Robert Ruddy officiating.
Arrangements are with Cleveland Funeral Home, Cape Vincent.
Born May 21, 1923, in Watertown, the daughter of Carlton and
Jennie Lysle Radley, she graduated from Cape Vincent High
School.
She married Gordon O’Brien on Sept. 21, 1942, at St.
Vincent of Paul, Cape Vincent. He died Feb. 2, 2000.
Mrs. O'Brien worked as a homemaker and on the family farm.
She was an avid reader and gardener.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Stanley and Margo
O’Brien, Goose Creek, S.C., Wayne and Cathy O’Brien, Las
Vegas, Nev., and Daniel and Ellen O’Brien, Cape Vincent;
three daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Payne, Cape
Vincent, Brenda and Ray Blanchfield, Latham, and Wanda
Merchant, Cape Vincent; two sisters, Marion Doctear and
Genevieve Milligan, both of Cape Vincent; 11 grandchildren,
8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband three brothers, Harold, Ralph, and
Lionel Radley, and a sister, Dorothy Wilder, all died before
her.
A funeral service was held 5 p.m. Saturday, March 29, at
the Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont with Deacon
Robert Ruddy officiating. Burial will be in the spring in
St. Vincent of Paul Cemetery, Cape Vincent. Calling hours
were held Saturday, March 29, at the
Becker-Cleveland Funeral Home, Chaumont.
Donations in her memory
maybe given to Hospice of Jefferson County, or the Cape
Vincent Ambulance Fund.
