Floyd Bresett

"Leroy" Bresett, 84, of South Bonaparte Road, died Tuesday afternoon, April 2, at his home while under the care of his family and Lewis County Hospice.

He was born
Aug. 7, 1928, Gouverneur, a son of Floyd and Pauline Teal Bresett. 

Mr. Bresett was employed at Knowlton Brothers Paper Mill in Watertown for 42 years. He retired in 1996. 

He married Mina Belle Tyler Solon on May 30, 1981, in Oswegatchie. A marriage to Ida Belle Clement ended in divorce.

He was an active member of the Harrisville Fire Department for 37 years. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and stock car racing. He enjoyed the Woodsmans Field Days in Boonville and Flywheel and Pulleys in Constableville.

Surviving are four children, Bonnie and Larry Davis, LaFargeville, Juanita and Kenneth Noone, Philadelphia, Timothy and Nora, LaFargeville, and Donald and his companion, Tina Archer, Evans Mills; five step children, Frank and Susan Solon, Wisconsin, Lawrence Solon Jr, Oswegatchie, Dennis and Marry Solon, Edwards, Walter Solon, Bernhards Bay and Mike Solon, Russell; three siblings, Claire Clement, Gouverneur, Allen Bresett, Mexico, and Donna and Tim Weaver, Gouverneur; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 8 p.m. Friday April 5, at the Adirondack Funeral Home, Harrisville. A graveside service will take place in the spring in Harrisville Cemetery.
