WATERTOWN, N.Y. —
Mildred J. Surace, 70, of 414 Jewell Drive, Maple Court
Apartments, died Sunday April 6, at her home.
Born Oct. 27, 1937, in Watertown, a daughter of Patrick T.
and Mildred H. Denny Surace, she attended Watertown High
School.
She married Robert E. Soluri Sr. on April 23, 1955, at Our
Lady of the Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Benoint Dostie
officiating. The couple divorced in 1980.
Mrs. Soluri was a waitress and cook for various restaurants.
She owned and operated Soluri’s Pizza Shop until 1980 when
she sold it to her son, Robert. For thirteen years she was a
clerk at the Hallmark Card Store in Salmon Run Mall.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
Church.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert E.
Jr. and Anna, Chaumont, Patrick J., David F. and Crystal
Caulkins, all of Watertown'; three daughters and a son-in -aw,
Toni Marie Soluri, and her companion Michael Gilligan,
Watertown, Tina Sue and Ronald Miller Lacy, Washington,
Tammy Ann Soluri and her fiancé Patrick Tarver, Sackets
Harbor; two brothers and their wives, Wifred T. and Sara
Varno, and Samuel L. and Joyce Surace, all of Watertown; a
sister and her husband, Anna and David Adams, Copenhagen;
fourteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews.
A brother, Joseph Varno, and a sister, Virginia Powell, died
before her.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April
8, at the D.L. Calarco Funeral Home Inc. A prayer service
will be held 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at the funeral
home with a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Sacred
Heart Church with Reverend Richard Kennedy officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
