Richard B. Knapp

CAPE VINCENT, N.Y.  —  Richard B. Knapp, 90, of S. Esselstyne Street, died Saturday morning, April 7, at Samaritan Keep Home.   He had been a patient since March 1.
  
Calling hours will be held 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Cummings Funeral Service, Inc., 320 John St., Clayton.   The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, at
St. Vincent dePaul Church, Rosiere, with Rev. Pierre Aubin officiating.   Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, town of Cape Vincent.
  
Donations may be made in his name to the Cape Vincent Volunteer Ambulance Squad, P. O. Box 609, Cape Vincent, N.Y. 13618.
  
Born Dec. 2., 1916, in Rosiere, the son of Albert B. and Lulu J. Wagner Knapp,  he graduated from St. Mary's High School, Clayton, in 1936.
  
On Dec. 28, 1939, he married Alice Mason at St. Vincent dePaul Church.  She died Oct. 18,
1979.   He married Edith L. Yott Mattraw on Nov. 29, 1980, at St. Vincent of Paul Church, Cape Vincent, with Rev. Eugene Kelly officiating.
  
Richard was a lifelong farmer on County Route 4, Rosiere.   He also drove school bus for Thousand Islands Central School District for 14 years.
  
He was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church, Rosiere.
  
He was a member of the Cape Vincent High School Board of Education and was a Republican committeeman.
  
He was also a board member for many years for the St. Lawrence Cemetery Assoc.
  
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son and his wife, Richard J. "Jack" & Nancy F. Knapp, Rosiere; his daughter and her husband, Nancy Louise & Ronald Lord, Willow, Alaska;  his seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren;  and a foster son, Robert  Potter, Ariz.
