“Hank” Harris, 84, of Route 411, died Sunday, April 7,
at home surrounded by his family and under the care of
Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born Jan. 18, 1929, in Pompton Lakes, N.J., the son of
Joseph L. and Sarah Upshall Harris, he attended school in
Mr. Harris served in the Marines and Army during the Korean
Conflict and was honorably discharged.
He was a self employed truck driver.
Mr. Harris enjoyed gardening.
He had belonged to many military organizations.
Survivors include his companion, Roberta Jackson, two sons,
Sam Burnett and Shawn Harris, both of Canada; two daughters,
Penelope Cook and Darlene Woodcock, both of Canada;
stepchildren, Joan Davis and her husband Pete, Sandy Pickett
and her husband, Gibbie, Jr., Janet Brannan, Val Pettit and
Bradley Jackson; grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
Two brothers, Bruce and Stewart. and a sister, Thelma Bowand.
all died before him.
A Celebration of Life will be held noon to 3 p.m. Saturday,
April 13, at the Klock Smith American Legion Post 1788,
