Christian J. Hucorne

ADAMS, N.Y.  —  Christian J. Hucorne, 63, of County Route 189, died Sunday evening in the emergency room at Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. 

A celebration of his life will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at the South Jefferson VFW Post 5344, 17 Phelps St., Adams. 

Arrangements are with Piddock Funeral Home, Adams.

Born Aug. 8, 1949, in Charlerois, Belgium, s son of Narcisse and Eugenia Tolochny Hucorne, he attended schools in New York City and Pennsylvania. 

He entered the U.S. Army in 1970 where he served in Vietnam. He was discharged in 1972.

He married Karen ‘Cookie’ Kowalski of New Hampton, N.Y., on May 25, 1974, in Stroudsburg, Pa. The couple lived in the Strousburg area before moving to Adams in 1989. 

Mr. Hucorne worked for Service Master of Watertown, and later for the Fuccillo Auto Mall, Adams.

He was a member of the American Legion Don Rounds Post 586 and life member of the South Jefferson VFW Memorial Post 5344, both of Adams.

Surviving besides his wife, Cookie, are two brothers, Claude and wife Jackie Hucorne, Leesburg, Fla/, John and wife, Denise Hucorne, Bartonsville, Pa.; two sisters, Marie Claire and husband Charles Faulhaber, Bloomfield, Conn.; Claudette and husband, Francis Kelly, Reeders, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. 

A brother, Marc Hucorne, died before him.
