Roger L. Marsh

CHAMPION, N.Y.  —  Roger L. Marsh, 87, formerly of 34687 North Lake Rd., died Wednesday, April 10, at the home of his daughter, Laurie, in Great Bend.

Born Nov. 10, 1925, in Cortland County, a son of Frank and Gladys Marsh, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. 

He married Edith Jane Lawrence on June 30, 1951. She died Dec. 2, 2004.

Mr. Marsh was employed as a mechanic for Car Care Specialties, Durkee’s Bread Co., and Willbrook Bread. 

He was a member of the Bassett-Baxter American Legion Post #789 in Carthage. 

He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and his garden.

Surviving are a son, Gerald Fred Marsh, Natural Bridge, a daughter, Laurie and her husband, Jeffrey Files, Great Bend; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. 

Also surviving is a good friend, Mark Emerson.

Calling Hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, April 15, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be held in the spring in Hillside Cemetery in Champion.
