WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Pauline
E. Krey, 93, formerly of Midtown Towers, died Friday morning
at Samaritan Keep Nursing Home where she had resided for six
years.
Mrs. Krey was a waitress at the American Hotel and Crystal
Restaurant for many years.
She was born Oct. 9,
1914, in Altmar, a daughter of Daniel and Lillian Smith
O’Brien.
She married Chester F.
Barber. The marriage ended in divorce. She later
married Francis Krey. He predeceased her.
Following Mr. Krey’s death, she was a companion to her
first husband until he passed in 1978. Mrs. Krey was an
elder care provider from age 70 until age 80. She enjoyed
playing bingo.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Barber,
Watertown, and Reginald and Carolyn Barber, Jamestown; a
daughter, Diane Gallow, Syracuse; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren
and two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
A daughter, Carol Sainato, and three sisters, Peg O’Brien,
Reba Quinn and Evelyn Flynn, died before her.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Reed
& Benoit Funeral Home. Burial will follow in North
Watertown Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
