John Burns

CARTHAGE, N.Y.  —  John Burns, 36, 25315 Loop Rd., died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Utica, where he had been a patient for several days. He has suffered from heart problems for several years.

Born June 21, 1971, in Ogdensburg, son of Malley and Edith White Burns, he attended schools in the Fowler-Gouverneur area. 

He worked for a period of time at Seneca Foods in Geneva, NY, before moving home to be with his family.

Surviving are his father and step-mother, Malley and Luella Burns, Carthage; two brothers, David Burns, Fla., and Bruce Burns, Edwards; two stepsisters and their husbands, Dorothy & Rudy Heffley, Carthage and Orisa & Eric Stacey, Watertown.

He was predeceased by his mother, Edith Burns.

A funeral will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, in the Chapel of the Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with the Rev. Eric C. Harblin, Pastor of the Fullerville Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow in East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur. 

Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at the funeral home.
