John H. Jobson

WATERTOWN, N.Y.     John H. Jobson, 82, of 26323 County Route 53, passed Sunday, May 19, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 23, at Hart & Bruce Funeral Home.

A memorial service at the Evans Mills Methodist Church and burial at Sanford Corners Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Born Oct. 30, 1930, in Alexandria Bay, the son of John H. Jobson and Violet Brown, he attended Watertown schools.

He married Elsie May Pharoah on May 30, 1949, in Watertown.  She was a homemaker.

Mr. Jobson worked for Taylor Implements, New York Air Brake and Upstate Tar and Asphalt as an auto mechanic, retiring in the late 1980s.  

He enjoyed working on cars and watching the races at Watertown Speedway.

Among his survivors are his loving wife of 64 years, Elsie May Jobson, Watertown; five sons, John H. Jobson III and his companion Linda Adams; Jerry D. Jobson and his companion Lynda Young; Arthur J. Jobson and his wife Robin Jobson, Jesse L. Jobson, all of Watertown, Jack R. Jobson, Carthage; four daughters and three sons in law, Bonnie M. and John Alan, Watertown, Barbara A. and Samuel Hartman, Evans Mills, Jamie M. Jobson, Watertown, Cathy L. and Charles Macky, Dexter; 18 grandchildren; Jeralynn Jobson, Jeralee Jobson, Rosina Colvin, Jessica Jackson, Georgia Gutierrez, Samuel Hartman, David Jobson, Johnny Jobson, Brian Macky, Brad Macky, Lilyanne LaBarge, Jackie Jobson, Roger Jobson, Denialle Rogers, Rebecca Gebo, Joshua Jobson, Justin Jobson and Mackenzie Jobson; 18 great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law, Albert and Myrna Jobson, Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Frank Pierce, two brothers, Lyle and Lewis Jobson, and four sisters, Isabelle Kaler, Dorothy Kelly, Betty Ellsworth and Ruth Capone, all passed before him.
