54, Woodville, passed away Monday, May 20, at University
Hospital, Syracuse following a seven-year battle with
The funeral Mass for
family and close friends will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at
St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Grove St., Adams, with Rev.
Patrick Ratigan officiating. There are no calling hours.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 8, at South
Jeff Lanes at a time to be announced.

Born Jan. 15, 1959, a son
to Bernard A. and Mary LaComb Petrie Sr., he was a 1977
graduate of South Jefferson High School.
He married Cheryl Cough at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church
on Sept. 19, 1981.
Bernie was a manager with Security Supply at the Murrock
Circle location for many years retiring due to ill health.
Bernie was an avid bowler and golfer. He was a member of the
700 bowling clubs in Watertown and Adams as well as a member
of their respective Bowler Halls of Fame. He bowled
the first perfect game (300) at the South Jeff Lanes in
1980, bowling three others in his career to include two in
He enjoyed long walks by the water and spending time with
He was a volunteer at the Rohde Community Center in Adams.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl; his mother, Mary Petrie,
Adams; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonny and Bill
Keller, and Tammy and Danny Davis, all of Watertown; many
nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; aunts, Uncles and
Cousins; his step brothers and sisters, Gwen Gillen, Butch
and Marcie Rheaume and Goldie Wombacker; his step-mother,
Irene Petrie; his father-in-law, Emerson Cough, Woodville.
He was predeceased by his father, Bernard Sr. in 2003, and
his mother-in-law, Lenora Cough.
