— Jean H. Vance, 74, died Wednesday, May 21,
at her home on Division Street.
A service celebrating her life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, May 23,
at the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 State Street, Lowville, with Rev. Everett F. Reed, pastor of the Lowville Baptist Church, officiating. There are no calling hours. Mrs. Vance will be cremated.

Born Aug. 6, 1933, in Lowville, a daughter of Clarence T. and Ada M. Arthur Hulbert,
she graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School in 1951, and she attended the House of Good Samaritan Nursing School.
She was married Herbert C. Vance on Oct. 10, 1952, at her parent’s home on Stewart Street in Lowville with the Rev. Roger Williams officiating.
For many years, she served as Administrative Assistant for the Black River Valley Insurance Agency, which was owned by her husband. Mr. Vance died on August 24, 1994. The work that was most meaningful to them was being a
New York State Family Care Providers in their home for over 20 years.
Mrs. Vance attended the First Presbyterian Church in Lowville.
She enjoyed reading, traveling and bird watching. She especially loved her family and was very proud of her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons and their wives: Steven Charles and Joanne,
and John Mark and Melody, all of Lowville; a sister, Marion Nelson,
Fairport; five grandchildren; uncles and aunts; and nieces and nephews.
