Lila R. Passage, 77, of 423 North Clinton St., died Monday evening, May
21, at home, under the care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
Born April 8, 1935, in Carthage, she attended school in Carthage.
Mrs. Passage was a long time member of the Calvary Assembly of God in West Carthage.
She married George Alonzo Passage on June 14, 1950, with Rev. Rae L. Brothers officiating. Mr. Passage died
Feb. 27, 1988.
Lila enjoyed cookouts with her children and baking treats for the grandchildren. She loved to play games and go for long rides to enjoy the beauty of nature.
She was very active in the women’s group at church through the years, helping make quilts, rolling bandages for missionary barrels and many other projects.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. Robert (Lila) Roggie, Judy Passage, both of Carthage, Mrs. Larry (Jean) Shannon, Deferiet, George Passage, Jr., West Carthage, Paul Passage, Belleville and Robert Passage, Natural
Bridge; four sisters, Mrs. Marion Crump, Carthage, Mrs. Melba Gleason, Watertown, Mrs. Frances Pete, Evans Mills,
and Mrs. Gerald (Wanetta) Lautenschlager, Layton, Utah;
a brother, Stanley Christman, Philadelphia;13 grandchildren and
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald Christman, Port Charlotte, Florida and George Christman, Carthage.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, at
Calvary Assembly of God, West Carthage, with Rev. Anthony P. Niger
II officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.
