Goldia Mae McWilliams

BLACK RIVER, N.Y.    Goldia Mae McWilliams, 91, formerly of Zecker Road, died Tuesday, May 29, at Country Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre, Carthage, where she had resided.

Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Rossmanhill, town of Fulton, the daughter of William and Jane Wilday Clow, she graduated in 1935 from Cobleskill Central School and the University of the State of New York at Roxbury in 1942.

She married Daniel Tyler on June 28, 1938. The couple owned a farm in the Roxbury area. Mr. Tyler died.  

She later married Warren McWilliams of Cheektowaga on July 3, 1971, in Buffalo. The couple moved to the Zecker Road in the early 1970s. Mr. McWilliams died August 1987, and Mrs. McWilliams remained in her home until moving to Carthage in 2006.

Mrs. McWilliams was a truck driver and hauled tote motors for the Ford Motor Company and later for Jefferson Rehabilitation Center, Watertown, as a bus driver.

She enjoyed fishing, traveling in her RV, her dogs, especially dachshunds and dobermans.

She was a member of the Moose lodge, an auxiliary member at the Bassett Baxter American Legion Post 798, West Carthage and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, (VFW) in Carthage.

Survivors include three nephews, Stephen Clow and Michael Clow, both of Windham and Kenneth Clow, Laurens; a niece, Linda Clow, Sloansville; several great nieces and nephews.

A brother, William Clow, Winham, died before her.

There will be no services. Burial will be in Lawyersville Cemetery, Lawyersville, N.Y.

Arrangements are with Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., Theresa.
