Margaret A. Brand

EVANS MILLS, N.Y.  —  Margaret A. Brand, 84, of Young Road, formerly of Evans Mills, died Thursday, June 7, at Glens Falls Hospital, Glens Falls.

Born June 12, 1927, in Great Bend, the daughter of the late Carl and the late Edith Hulbert Egeberg, she attended school in Deferiet and Carthage High School.

She married David E. Brand on Feb. 10, 1954. Mr. Brand died Sept. 8, 1986.

Mrs. Brand was employed with Faichney Industries, General Electric and was a child care provider, with a special connection to military families.

She was a member of the Robert Markwick American Legion Post 798, Philadelphia, and the Veterans of Foreign War Post 7227, Carthage.

Mrs. Brand enjoyed cake decorating, dancing and socializing with friends and family, especially at the American Legion.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Alan D. and Penny Ray Brand, Buskirk and George and Linda Brand, Deferiet; two brothers and their wives, Jerry and Dixie Egeberg, West Melbourne, Fla., and Norman and Jenny Egeberg, Watertown; a sister, Evelyn Keddy, Carthage; grandchildren, Amanda Brand and Alexi Brand, both of Buskirk, Robert Brand and his wife, Andrea, Cedarville, Ark., George Brand, Jr., Texarkana, Ark.; great grandchildren, Dustin Brand, Cedarville, Ark.; several nieces and nephews.

Three sisters, Vivian Privo, Dorothy Quinlavin and Elizabeth Reape, all died before her.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 11, at Frederick Bros. Funeral Home, 8380 S. Main St., Evans Mills, with Rev. Edgar A. Hunter Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, town of Champion. A gathering of friends and family will follow at the home of Larry and Nancy Morrow, Elm Ridge Road, Evans Mills.

Calling hours are 11 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
