— Stanley R. Zubrzycki, 76, formerly of State Route 12, died
Monday morning, June 23, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility where he had resided since 2005.
Born Oct, 15, 1931, in Turin, a son of Martin and Katherine Wojnarowski
Zubrzycki, he attended school in West Lowville and worked on his family
farm. He purchasing it from his parents in 1958. He served with the
Army from 1953 until 1955.
He married Rose Domser on June 4, 1960, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in
Houseville. The couple owned and operated the family farm on Route 12 until their retirement in
1997 at which time they sold it to their two sons, John and Mark, and daughter, Mary Zubrzycki.
Mr. Zubrzycki was a communicant of St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in
Houseville.
He was a member of the Lowville American Legion Post #162 and the Lewis County Polish American Citizen’s Club.
He enjoyed snowmobiling, Polish dancing and tractor pulls and horse pulls.
In addition to his wife, Rose and sons, Mark, John and his wife, Vicki, and daughter, Mary, all of Lowville, Mr. Zubrzycki is survived by another
son and his wife, Martin and Kerry, Syracuse; four sisters, Francis Batula and Sophie Samsa,
Lowville, Janice Pelcher, Rochester, and Louise “Lil” and her husband, Leonard Vogt,
Copenhagen; a brother and his wife, Stephen and Ruth, Lowville; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He ws predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Edward and Karl, a sister, Caroline Williams and a grandson, William who died in 2005.
A funeral mass will be said 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in
Lowville with Rev. Christopher J. Looby, parochial vicar, officiating. Military burial will follow at Lowville Rural Cemetery. Family and friends may call
1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at the Sundquist Funeral Home, 7676 State Street,
Lowville.
