— Robert J. Myers, 73, formerly of 8939 Tyler Road, Bridgeport,
died Friday, June 27, at the Carthage Area Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. He had been in the Skilled Nursing Facility since
Jan. 31, 2007.
Born Dec. 27, 1934, in Carthage, son of David Douglas and Viola Florence Gadbaw
Myers, he attended school in Carthage and served with the Army National Guard.
He was employed by the Town of Wilna as a snowplow operator. he also worked for
E.C. Crooks Memorial Company.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Dianna and Larry Arnold, Bridgeport;
a daughter-in-law, Brenda Myers, Glenfield; two sisters and
their husbands, Janice and George Bouvier, Carthage, and Beverly and
Floyd Moore; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Myers and Margaret
Myers; six grandchildren; Tonya Arnold, Larry Arnold II, Mary Myers, David Myers II, Shawn Holloway, Keith Holloway.
A son, David Myers, and two brothers William and Lester
Myers, died before him.
He loved to bowl. He enjoyed playing scratch offs and pull tabs. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Calling hours will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the Bossuot-Lundy Funeral Home
Inc. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 2,
in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Roger Mono officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, Natural Bridge.
