Ronald
James DeLair Sr., 76, died Friday, June 29, at
Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.
Born Dec. 1, 1935, in West Carthage, the son of James and
Mary North DeLair, he attended Watertown Schools and served
in the Air Force from 1953 to 1959.
He married Charlotte Booth on Oct. 26, 1966, in Baltimore, Md.
Ron worked at Black
Clawson for several years and then became a local truck
driver for Whites Lumber, Watertown, where he retired in
1997.
He enjoyed watching sports and playing Lotto.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Trudy and Joe
Black, Watertown; two sons and their wives, Ronald Jr. and
Dorothy DeLair, Calcium, and Todd and Dawn DeLair,
Watertown; a sister, Betty Giles, Fulton; four grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his
wife Charlotte on July 8, 2011. Two brothers, Lloyd and
Harry DeLair; four sisters, Patricia Youngs, Rose Mary
Benney, Rosalie Barcomb and Jackueline Reagan, all died
before him.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
Private funeral service will be held at the convenience of
the family. The body will be cremated.
Arrangements are with the Cleveland Funeral Home, Watertown.
